Security: By managing IP access, you can control who can access Paytia. By restricting access to specific IP addresses or ranges, you can prevent unauthorised users from accessing sensitive information or potentially compromising your system. This adds an extra layer of protection and helps protect your platform account and the data it contains from unauthorised access, hacking attempts, or malicious activities.
Compliance: Managing IP access allows you to enforce these compliance regulations by ensuring that only authorised individuals or organisations with approved IP addresses can access and handle sensitive data. It helps you maintain regulatory compliance and avoid potential penalties or legal issues.
Preventing misuse: By managing IP access, you can prevent unauthorized usage on the Paytia platform. For example, managing IP access can help prevent users from sharing their login credentials with others outside of their organisation. This ensures that your service is used by authorised individuals or organisations only, preventing misuse or unauthorised distribution of your services.
To manage IP access you have to be able to login to the merchant portal. Once logged in there is a page located under the menu Account security on the left-hand side. Under this you will see a sub-menu for Manage IP access, click here.
User types are where you will select which category level of user will have access to the Paytia platform.
All - Selecting this option will restrict all users of Paytia via your account to a specific IP address
User - This will give only the users of your Paytia account access to a specific IP address
Sub User Company - Allows the user of an associated company to be restricted to an IP address (Relevant to Paytia claims processing)
Sub Admin - Allows only Sub admins of your Paytia account access via a specific IP address
The second option is IP types. This allows you to set the IP address entry type you will be adding.
Host is a single IP address
Host - this allows you to enter a single IP address.
IP/Subnet CIDR range format - This allows you to enter a start IP and a forward slash subnet range rather than listing a lot of individual IP addresses e.g. 8.8.8.8/27
Range - A sequential range of IP addresses, an IP range is a set of IPs that are consecutive. They can be assigned to a specific subnet. It is the trailing host portion of an IP address. You can set up devices within a local network under one IP Range. The subnet mask defines the size of the range. Often you can see the spelling with a slash. The number behind describes the range of the IP Range. The larger the IP range, the more devices can be set up in the network.
