How to Use the Test Platform in Paytia

The Paytia platform allows administrators to simulate payment processes using a test gateway. This guide will walk you through how to enable test mode, manage accounts, and perform specific actions within the platform.

1. Login and Access Payment Gateway Setup

  1. Sign in to your admin account on the Paytia platform.
  2. Navigate to the Manage payments category on the left-hand menu.
  3. Click on the Payment gateway setup sub-category. Here, you can:
    • Add new accounts.
    • Rename accounts (e.g., "Main business account").
    • Connect to additional payment service providers.

2. Enable or Disable Test Mode

  • Enable Test Mode:

    • Toggle the Test Mode Setting button (located at the far-right of the screen) to the "on" position.
    • The icon will display in blue to confirm activation.

  • Disable Test Mode:

    • Toggle the Test Mode Setting button to the "off" position.
    • The icon will display in gray, indicating deactivation.

3. Add Additional Accounts

  1. While in the Payment gateway setup page, click the Add extra account button.
  2. Follow the prompts to add a new payment gateway connector. This can either be:
    • A new payment gateway merchant account.
    • A duplicate of an existing account.

4. Key Actions for Payment Gateways

Once a payment gateway is connected, the following actions are available:

A. Re-sync Account

  • Click on Re-sync Account to re-initiate the payment onboarding process.
  • During test mode:
    • Stripe users will see an option to Skip this form. Selecting this retrieves a generic test API key from Stripe for simulation purposes.

B. Disable Connection

  • Selecting Disable Connection temporarily disconnects the selected payment gateway. The system will mark the gateway as inactive.

C. Edit Gateway

  • Click Edit Gateway to update the nickname of your gateway. This nickname is used in dropdown menus within the Agent Capture Assist.

D. Set Primary Gateway

  • The Primary Gateway button designates a default payment gateway for processing transactions.
  • This default setting is applied when no specific merchant code is provided in the API post.

5. Managing Live and Test Mode Transactions

  • Reports Separation: Paytia automatically separates reports for test and live transactions, ensuring clarity between simulated and actual payments.
  • Toggle between modes to view relevant transaction reports for live or test environments.

By following these steps, you can efficiently test and manage payment processes within the Paytia platform while ensuring accurate configuration for live operations. For further assistance, refer to the Help section or contact Paytia support.
