Summary:
Conference Pay makes taking secure payments over the phone simple. It uses your existing telephone system’s conference calling feature and guides you through each step on screen.
Conference Pay works by adding Paytia’s secure payment service as a third participant on your live customer call.
Once connected, you’ll follow on‑screen prompts to:
✅ Add the Paytia Conference Pay service to the active call
✅ Verify your agent ID
✅ Bring your customer back into the call
✅ Start the secure card capture process
Stage 1 – Payment request received
A payment transaction request is saved in Paytia.
On screen you’ll see: “1 Payment Request Received” with a green tick.
Stage 2 – Start the conference call
Start a conference call on your phone system and then when you want to start a payment capture, dial your dedicated Paytia number to join the Conference Pay service.
This number is the same for all users, so we recommend saving it as a speed dial or a searchable contact.
Stage 3 – Verify agent ID
Paytia will answer the call.
Your customer should be on hold while you listen to the Paytia instructions.
Enter your User ID (displayed on screen).
Paytia will repeat it back to you and ask you to press 1 to confirm.
Stage 4 – Bring the customer into the call
Stage 5 – Start card capture
Click the on‑screen “Start Capture” button in Paytia.
All parties will now hear the Paytia card capture instructions.
The agent simply listens while the customer follows the audio prompts.
Stage 6 – Customer confirms
The customer presses 1 to confirm the charge amount or transaction type.
On screen you’ll see Stage 5 turn green and ticked, and you can follow the process audibly and visually.
Save the Paytia Conference Pay number as a speed dial or searchable contact.
Ensure your User ID is ready before starting.
Keep your customer on hold until prompted to bring them into the call.
