How do I set the operating currency?

How to Set the Operating Currency on the Paytia Platform

This article provides step-by-step instructions to configure and manage the operating currency on the Paytia platform. Setting the correct operating currency ensures seamless processing of transactions and simplifies user experience.


Step 1: Access the Operating Currency Settings

  1. Log in to Paytia
    Use your administrator credentials to log in to the Paytia platform.

  2. Navigate to the Operating Currency Page

    • From the left-hand menu, select Manage Payments.
    • Click on Operating Currency from the expanded menu.



Step 2: Add a New Currency

  1. Click "Add"

    • On the Operating Currency page, click the + Add button located at the top-right corner.
  2. Select a Currency

    • A popup window will appear. Use the dropdown menu to select the desired currency from the list.
    • For example, you can choose AUD ($), USD ($), or GBP (£).
  3. Save the Currency

    • After selecting the currency, click Save or Add to include it in the list of operating currencies.



Step 3: Set a Default Currency

  1. Choose the Default Currency

    • On the Operating Currency page, find the currency you want to set as the default.

    • Toggle the Set Default button to green for the chosen currency.

    Note: The default currency will be pre-selected in transaction forms and dropdowns.

  2. Verify Default Status

    • Only one currency can be the default at a time. Enabling a new default currency will automatically disable the previous one.



Step 4: Delete Unwanted Currencies

  1. Locate the Currency

    • Identify the currency you wish to delete from the list.
  2. Click "Delete"

    • Press the red Delete button under the Action column next to the currency.

    • Confirm the deletion in the popup prompt.

    Important: You cannot delete a currency that is currently set as the default. Change the default currency first before deleting.


Step 5: Test the Currency Configuration

  1. Log in as a User

    • Use a user account to verify the available currencies and confirm the default currency is correctly applied.
  2. Check Payment Forms

    • Ensure the default currency appears first in all relevant dropdown menus, such as the Agent Capture Assist screen.
